Industrial Experience KNE390
Hobart
Introduction
Completion of 12 weeks of approved Industrial Experience is required for admission to BE degree. The Industrial Experience may be taken at any time during the Engineering Degree course if prerequisites are met, but is most commonly completed during the summer between third and fourth year. Students are expected to enrol in KNE389 Industrial Placement Preparation well prior to commencing their work placement so that they appear on the class list of students seeking placements, otherwise no assistance can be provided for finding placements. Students then enrol in KNE390 Industrial Experience in the semester immediately following the completion of their work experience requirements, and are required to submit a satisfactory report on the nature and extent of the work undertaken. Submission of the report is normally expected two weeks after the beginning of the Semester of enrolment. The School reserves the right to contact employers and consider their views in assessing student reports.
