Persons making and expecting to make an active and ongoing contribution to the work of the University may be appointed to Adjunct, Clinical or University Associate Titles.
In late 2021, the University of Tasmania announced that all students and staff, including Adjunct, Clinical and University Associate title holders, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a medical exemption in order to attend any of the University’s campuses from 15 January 2022. This requirement extends to all teaching and research sites and any location where a University of Tasmania activity or event is taking place. All staff are able to upload proof of their vaccination status to the University’s Service Now portal.
While we strongly encourage uploading vaccination status via the Service Now portal, failure to do so by 15 January 2022 will not impact on the status of any Adjunct, Clinical and University Associate appointment.
In this case, while the appointment is unaffected, any individual who has not provided proof of vaccination or received an exemption will not be permitted to attend any University campus or any University activity or event held off campus. Any University building access will be removed from 15 January 2022.
High level policy principles relevant to Adjunct, Clinical and University Associate titles are contained in the Academic Promotions, Honorary and Adjunct Titles Policy. The Adjunct, Clinical and University Associate Titles processes are under review and a new Adjunct, Clinical and University Associate Titles Procedure will be published in due course.
