This MBA is suitable for people either coming straight from an undergraduate degree or those who have experience in the workforce. This course will equip you with life-long business skills. The MBA(I) is a 16 unit course, which you can study full time or part-time. This course is full fee-paying, which means that you will be charged at the full fee-paying rate listed for each unit.

The MBA(I) includes opportunities to engage in study tours as well as internships or work integrated learning with leading Tasmanian organisations.

Students undertaking the Master of Business Administration (International) complete units totaling 200 credit points. The course includes 150 credit points of core units and 50 credit points of specialisation units from 1 of 4 streams.

Please note that this course includes a business experience unit (BMA702 International & National Business Experience) which may include a compulsory national business tour, where costs associated (including accommodation, meals and field trips) will be in addition to the standard tuition fee. Entry requirements

For entry into the MBA (International), students must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution; or
  • Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Business Studies at the University of Tasmania, or an equivalent qualifying Graduate Certificate#; or
  • Completion of an AQF Level 6 qualification and a minimum of three (3) years senior managerial experience.

#a qualifying Graduate Certificate is any Graduate Certificate from an Australian higher education institution, or the equivalent from any other institution.

International students must provide one of the following:

  • UTASAccess Level 7 with a minimum overall score of 65% and no individual skill below 60%; or
  • an IELTS score with an overall Band of 6.5 and no band less than 6; or
  • a TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 88 (no individual skill must be lower than: Reading 16; Listening 16; Speaking 18; and, Writing 22) or
  • a PTE Academic overall score of 58 with no score lower than 50, or
  • provide evidence that you have studied for 2 years full-time with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination.

These tests must not be more than 24 months old.

Students who have completed the C6E Graduate Diploma in Business Start-up or  C6C Graduate Diploma of Business Administration may enter this course with full credit for completed units, subject to the rules and structure of this degree and choice of specialisation stream.

Fees & scholarships

Domestic students

Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.

Domestic students enrolled in certain postgraduate coursework programs may not be eligible for student payments through Youth Allowance and Austudy. Visit the Department of Social Services website to find out more about eligibility for Centrelink support and the list of eligible courses

International students

2021 Total Course Fee (international students): $ 71,123 AUD *.

Course cost based on a rate of $34,950 AUD per standard, full-time year of study (100 credit points).
