Automation and technology are rapidly evolving and fast-moving. By 2030, nearly half of all industries are anticipated to undergo automation, requiring the professional upskilling of current workers. Artificial intelligence is ever-growing with several capabilities, these are powerful and innovative tools that are beginning to be used across industries and understanding them is vital in advancing your skill set.

Cyber security is becoming a significant issue for organisations and governments around the world, with major incidents costing millions of dollars every year. There is a need, both nationally and globally, to develop a cyber savvy work force to assess cyber risk, meet privacy and security regulations, and protect sensitive systems and customers from attacks. Cyber security is a key focus in most organisations, and the impacts of incidents are often widespread and severe. Cyber resilience is critical and relies on educated and aware practitioners at every level of every organisation, both within traditionally technical roles and more broadly.

Technologies have initiated a significant change in cybersecurity, offering opportunities for innovation and protection. Advancements like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) help us spot and stop cyber threats more rapidly. Blockchain keeps our transactions secure, and its decentralised setup and strong cryptographic security make it difficult for attackers to tamper with data. As these technologies grow, they're helping us build a safer internet where we can trust our data and privacy.

In manufacturing, technology is the key to efficiency and precision. Automation has shifted production processes, boosting output, reducing errors, and enhancing product quality. It is important that technological skills are learnt, keeping with the times.

Stay ahead in the industry with our Diploma of Applied Technology. This course is delivered fully online, designed to work around you and your schedule. You’ll gain real time access to applied learning in data systems, connectivity to industry, innovative technical solutions, and automation within a variety of industries.

The Diploma of Applied Technologies equips you with the skills and knowledge to thrive in today's dynamic workforce. You'll develop strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas and advice.

Our Diploma degree uses a combination of applied, blended, and online interaction with students; to develop knowledge and practical skills in their chosen field of study. This integrated approach applies an array of experiential education opportunities such as site visits, field work, case studies, simulated work environments, and data-driven decision-making.

This course provides insights into the increasing significance of technology in society and professions. With the option to specialise in cyber security, advanced manufacturing, extractive industries, sustainable business, ICT, or fermentation, you can tailor your learning experience. Graduates of this course will gain expertise in all things related to technology, including the ability to articulate and leverage artificial intelligence in professional settings. This diverse range of specialisations ensures you have the skills needed to thrive in the competitive job market and reach global opportunities.

  • 1 Identify and use technologies, tools and techniques to manage and maintain data, systems and processes
  • 2 Apply problem-solving and design approaches to identify technological solutions or innovations
  • 3 Interpret, analyse and present technical information using professional communication skills
  • 4 Critically reflect on knowledge, skills, behaviours and attributes required to develop and enhance career opportunities
  • The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) offers you an interactive platform to remotely access hardware resources, including robots, sensors, actuators, and other related equipment. Through the VLE, you'll have the capability to program these hardware components and observe real-time outputs via live streaming facilitated by webcams. By offering these lab activities, the VLE ensures a comprehensive learning experience, integrating both theoretical knowledge and practical application. You can choose between hardware-based labs for practical, hands-on engagement or simulation-based labs to explore and experiment within a virtual environment. This approach caters to diverse learning styles and enriches their understanding of the subject matter.

With course content being delivered by experts in the field within a highly supported environment, you will benefit off their knowledge and graduate with an understanding of your field of choice.

    Career outcomes
