Entry requirements
Eligibility
Interested in studying the Master of Education (Specialisation), you will need to meet the following requirements:
Hold an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) degree:
- Bachelor of Education,
- Bachelors degree with a Diploma of Education,
- Bachelors degree with a Bachelor of Teaching,
- Bachelors degree with a Master of Teaching,
- or equivalent ITE qualifications.
This course is available to graduates in teacher education, graduates from other disciplines with a Diploma of Education, Bachelor of Teaching, or Master of Teaching, or to those holding equivalent qualifications. Graduates from non-education courses with extensive relevant work experience are also eligible to undertake this course.
Articulation from
Completed undergraduate education and teacher education courses and postgraduate study in a Graduate Certificate in Education.
Articulation to
Articulation from this course to Masters by Research, Doctorate in Education (EdD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Alternative entry pathways
An alternative pathway to a Master of Education for domestic students is available on a Commonwealth Supported (CSP) basis for the first eight units through one of the Bachelor of Education with Professional Honours courses:
Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.
Detailed tuition fee information for domestic students is available at the Domestic Student Fees website, including additional information in relation to a compulsory Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
Domestic students enrolled in certain postgraduate coursework programs may not be eligible for student payments through Youth Allowance and Austudy. Visit the Department of Social Services website to find out more about eligibility for Centrelink support and the list of eligible courses
International students
2020 Total Course Fee (international students): $ 46,967 AUD *.
Course cost based on a rate of $30,950 AUD per standard, full-time year of study (100 credit points).
* Please note that this is an indicative fee only.
International students
International students are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the annual rate. International students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.
