You will also gain an understanding of the differences between pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, how medications are absorbed, distributed, and metabolised, and learn to develop individual patient medication management plans.
Your studies will incorporate the principles of medication management from neonatal, paediatrics through to the older persons, and includes cultural and indigenous considerations of medication use and prescribing.

Entry requirements
For Domestic students
- Must be practicing as a Registered Nurse for at least two years (24 months) since graduation prior to the start of the course.
- Must provide evidence of AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and or Midwife with no restrictions or conditions.
- Must provide a personal statement in eApplication, or a CV or Resume which states the specialty practice area in which the applicant works as a Registered Nurse and for the length of time.
For International students
This course is not available to international students. Please enquire online for advice on alternative course options.
Articulation
Articulation into further study is not possible on completion of the Graduate Certificate. There are no articulation pathways as this is an upskilling opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses.
Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Cost shouldn’t get in the way of you studying.
If you’re a domestic student, you may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place in this course. This means your fees will be subsidised by the Australian Government. You’ll only need to pay the student contribution amount for each unit you study within the course.
You may also be able to defer payment of the student contribution amount by accessing a HECS-HELP loan from the Government. If eligible, you’ll only have to pay your tuition fees once you start earning above a specific amount.
