Foundations for Professional Practice 1 CNA150

Introduction

This unit will introduce students to the foundational communication skills required to participate as an effective therapeutic agent and collaborative member of the inter -professional person centred healthcare team. Students will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a capable, safe and ethical registered nurse. Emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and reflective practice are all emphasised, informing quality and safety in practice and supporting self-care, professional identity formation and emergence of the professional self. Interviewing, interpersonal skill development, and multiple communication platforms will be introduced.
