The teaching pattern in this unit will vary depending on the semester in which it is undertaken
The unit comprises three modules each of which focuses on a specific area of health and incorporates contextual physiology and pathophysiology and nursing practice across primary, secondary and tertiary care. Current national health priorities in the areas of nutrition, cardiac and renal/urinary health form the basis of this unit. A case study approach incorporates learning related to legal and ethical issues, cultural competence and building therapeutic relationships. This unit engages students in clinical reasoning to promote health outcomes. Students will have the opportunity to develop their Professional Portfolio in this unit.
