This unit explores contemporary issues in professional nursing practice. Students are encouraged to identify and critically engage with the complexities of organisational and regulatory frameworks that impact on nursing as a profession. Consideration is given to the social and political contexts of health care and the position of nursing within those. Students will reflect on their own experiences in practice across a range of clinical settings to consider the implications of challenges facing the nursing profession and the transition from student to new graduate registered nurse.
