Minimum 80% attendance will be required to be assessed in this unit. The student contribution amount for this unit is fully subsidised and therefore not payable by the student.  This is the case for Domestic students only.

Dates for the 3-day block on each campus will vary.   Students will be advised of these late in Semester 1.

Foundations of Human Bioscience is a support unit that will reinforce the content of CXA107 whilst developing the thinking and study skills essential to the study of bioscience at a university level.

There will be particular focus on developing a sound knowledge of basic scientific concepts, including basic chemistry and scientific numeracy, and applying these concepts in more complex biological applications. Students will be encouraged and supported in developing sound study habits, including regular planned study sessions, meaningful notetaking, using textbooks and electronic resources and developing vocabulary.

Teaching Pattern

3 day intensive study block (sem 2 week 0), 1 hour seminar (weeks 2-9) , 1hr online engagement (weeks 2-9)


In class and online quizzes and writing tasks (formative only). Students will receive a UP grade if attendance and participation meets requirements.
