Introduction

This unit exposes students to contemporary management practices in ports. The design of this unit is set in such a way as to meet the need of students at different stages in their careers and at different levels in their organisations. In this unit students will learn about different aspects of port operations and the port environment and how ports compete for trade and develop over time. Students will learn how general management principles are applied to port operations.
