Advanced Programming Paradigms KIT420

This unit is offered subject to meeting minimal enrolments.

A particular programming paradigm not only dictates a programming language's syntax but also strongly influences how one solves problems using that language. This unit examines programming paradigms from low-level assembler through to the advanced functional language Haskell. Specific topics covered will be selected in consultation with participants, but may include: type systems; parametric polymorphism, subtyping and dynamic typing data abstraction; control flow abstraction; objects, encapsulation and closures; and functional programming.
