Tech Ex 2014

Tech Ex LogoThe Launceston-based Building eLearning Community of Practice organised a Technical Exposition (Tech Ex) in Launceston, at the Sir Raymond Ferrall Centre, on 24 June, 2014.

Most of the sessions were filmed and can be viewed through the Program page.

The Exposition was intended for academic staff. It:

  • showcased innovative approaches to technology being used to enhance learning and teaching at UTAS
  • introduced upcoming new technologies
  • demonstrated facilities in Launceston

Presentations ranged from easy, little-known technology like Cloudstor to social media, games in education, flipped classrooms and streaming video. We also showcased our Launceston video production centre.

Transportation was arranged from the Cradle Coast campus to Launceston and back.

The 2014 Tech Ex was funded by the Pro Vice Chancellor's Office for Regional Development with a contribution from the Australian Maritime College. It was organised by the Building eLearning Community of Practice.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the TSBE, the Faculty of Arts. the Faculty of Education, ITS and the School of Health Sciences for generously supporting us by allowing us to contribute our time to this venture — The Tech Ex Organising Committee

The Tech Ex was organised by the Building e-learning Community of Practice. The organising committee members were Richard Barker, Bronwyn Burles, Leah Chandler, Beverly Goldfarb, Kevin Lyall, Claire Sharman and Bob Wylie.
