This degree is designed to prepare students for management careers in the dynamic and internationally-focused maritime and logistics industries and related areas.
This course is unique because it combines core business principles, for example, finance, marketing, economics, business law and strategic management with more specific maritime industry units of study, such as port and terminal management, ship operations management and maritime economics. These are studied in combination with logistics-based units, to provide the necessary focus and an in-depth appreciation of the issues confronting the maritime and logistics industries. The course culminates with the Transport Research Project that requires students to apply business research techniques to contemporary issues in the maritime and logistics industries.
Course objectives
This degree course provides students with knowledge of critical elements of the maritime and logistics industries. The course provides the necessary grounding in maritime and international logistics, covering essential topics relevant to international business management, transport systems and the maritime industry. By developing various business and management skills within the industry context, students will be able to contribute to industry growth and innovation.
The course will furnish prospective early-career administrators and managers with a sound foundation in international maritime and logistics management. Through this course of study students will be able to:
- Analyse and evaluate business management concepts and practical processes within the field of international maritime and logistics management.
- Obtain, analyse and interpret data relevant to making evidence-based decisions in diverse maritime and logistics contexts.
- Exercise initiative and judgement in contributing towards solutions to diverse problems in the maritime and logistics contexts; incorporating social, ethical, regulatory, global, and business management perspectives.
- Present a clear and coherent exposition of business management knowledge, concepts and empirical evidence relevant to the maritime and logistics industries.
- Reflect on performance feedback in the maritime and logistics context to identify and action learning opportunities and self-improvement.

This degree prepares students for management and senior administrative careers in private enterprise, industry organisations and government in the areas of commercial shipping, ports and terminals, transport, transport policy and administration, freight forwarding and well as exporting and importing and other elements of international business.

In the Bachelor of Business (Maritime & Logistics Management), you enrol in the two majors, the minor and choose 4 student electives.
This degree consists of a total of 24 units comprising:
- Two majors of 8 units each: each major consists of 2 introductory, 2 intermediate, 4 advanced units
- A minor of 4 units: 2 introductory, 2 intermediate units
- Four student elective/breadth units
- Unit level requirements for the degree are: between 8-10 units at introductory level, 6-10 units at intermediate level and 8-10 units at advanced level.

Admission Prerequisites
General entry requirements as per the following link:Domestic General Entry Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of Year 12 (TCE, VCE, HSC or equivalent with an ATAR score clearly in 65) or successful completion of a Diploma or Associate Degree in Maritime and Logistics Management.
- AMC will consider applications from people who do not have the above qualifications, but who seek admission on the basis of experience gained in industry or government.

Articulation from
Graduates with a minimum credit average in third year units may be eligible for the Bachelor of Business (Maritime and Logistics Management) Honours Program. Postgraduate studies in Maritime and Logistics Management are also available. Eligible students may enrol in a double degree, combining the Bachelor degree with the Bachelor of Applied Science (Maritime Technology Management).
Articulation to
Successful completion of the Diploma of Maritime and Logistics Management results in credit for 8 units or successful completion of the Associate Degree in Maritime and Logistics Management results in credit for 16 units in the Bachelor of Business(Maritime and Logistics Management).

Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.

International students
2021 Total Course Fee (international students): $0 AUD*.
Course cost based on a rate of $30,000 AUD per standard, full-time year of study (100 credit points).
