The Graduate Diploma of Business Administration is a 12 month full-time or part-time equivalent course offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics. The course is full fee-paying, which means that you will be charged at the full fee-paying rate listed for each unit.

The Graduate Diploma of Business Administration offers the opportunity to complete a postgraduate qualification in Business, either alone or as a pathway to future MBA studies.  Studies in Business Administration equip the graduate with the tools and language needed to succeed as a business leader, in any industry.

This course is suitable for people either coming straight from an undergraduate degree or those who have some experience in the workforce. This course is intended to equip students with life-long business skills, such as data-driven decision making, finance and economics for managers, human resource management, and management in an international context.

    Entry requirements

    For entry to this course, you need to have: an undergraduate degree or higher in any discipline, or equivalent, from an approved tertiary institution; or qualifications, relevant work experience or other special circumstances, as approved by the Executive Dean or delegated authority. International students must provide one of the following: UTASAccess Level 7 with a minimum overall score of 60% and no individual skill below 60%; or IELTS with an overall Band of 6 and no Band less than 6; or TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 72 (no individual skill must be lower than Reading 16; Listening 16; Speaking 18; and, Writing 22); or provide evidence that you have studied for 2 years full-time with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination. These tests must not be more than 24 months old.

    Passes in subjects or units in other honours or postgraduate courses (completed or otherwise) in this University or another approved tertiary institution (or other approved professional examining body) may be credited towards the degree, provided that the College may specify what more a candidate so credited shall be required to do to qualify for the award. Credit provisions are in line with Part 3 of Academic Senate Rule 6, which deals with application, approval, and maximum credit allowances.
    Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Business Studies from the University of Tasmania may enter this course with full credit for completed units. Students who complete this program may enter the MBA (International) with full credit.

    Options for this course

    This is a full-fee course, which means you’ll need to pay the full amount for your studies. Commonwealth Supported Places are not available in this course. However, there are still support options available for eligible students to help you manage the cost of studying this course.

    You may be able to fund all or part of your tuition fees by accessing a FEE-HELP loan from the Australian Government. FEE-HELP is a loan scheme that assists domestic full-fee students to pay for University, which is repaid through the Australian Tax System once you earn above a repayment threshold. This means you’ll only have to start repaying the loan once you start earning above a specific amount
