This interdisciplinary course is offered part-time only over 1 year or 2 semesters. It is open to all health professionals employed or wishing to be employed in an educational capacity within the clinical area. The maximum time for completion is 3 years. The course is offered from Launceston, Hobart, Cradle Coast and interstate.

Please note that Graduate programs are offered subject to student demand and the availability of School of Nursing resources.

The School of Nursing, in collaboration with cooperating health care agencies, aims to create an educational environment which values critical, reflective thinking, life-long learning, acquisition of generic attributes and professional development.  The primary course objective is to equip students with the fundamental knowledge, skills, capabilities and awareness to deliver flexible learning and use simulation in their teaching practice.

  • 1 Integrate theoretical foundations and practice of learning, teaching and assessment across a broad range of practice encounters
  • 2 Incorporate evidence-informed contemporary pedagogy for health professionals, including flexible learning and simulations.
  • 3 Foster a reasoned and critical perspective to social, political, environmental, and economic scenarios in learning and teaching.
  • 4 Develop high level written and oral communication skills to examine and explain theoretical propositions, methodologies and conclusions across culturally and linguistically diverse audiences with varying levels of expertise.
  • 5 Demonstrate critical reflective practice in developing, defining and evaluating learning and teaching across global contexts.
  • Career outcomes

    Graduates may find employment in educational roles within health care facilities.

    Tertiary: FOR ELIGIBILITY TO BE ADMITTED TO THE COURSE: · AQF (or equivalent) undergraduate degree qualification, and be working in a Health care setting. · A statement outlining area of work, and evidence of confirmation of employment. (Payslip or signed and dated statement confirming current employment status).

    Options for this course

    This is a full-fee course, which means you’ll need to pay the full amount for your studies. Commonwealth Supported Places are not available in this course. However, there are still support options available for eligible students to help you manage the cost of studying this course.

    You may be able to fund all or part of your tuition fees by accessing a FEE-HELP loan from the Australian Government. FEE-HELP is a loan scheme that assists domestic full-fee students to pay for University, which is repaid through the Australian Tax System once you earn above a repayment threshold. This means you’ll only have to start repaying the loan once you start earning above a specific amount
