Plan for your exam and get your diary alerts in order so you don't miss the enrolment close dates.

Our 2022 Exam Session Dates are now available so you can get a jump on your planning for the year.

What's new this year?

Not much actually. The changes we made last year were, largely, very successful so we've just tweaked the edges a little to adjust for public and school holidays.

While we continue to roll with the punches that this pandemic throws at us, all exam planning comes with the usual caveats that restrictions continue to allow us to hold face-to-face exams. Should that change, we'll make sure you know what's going on and what options are available to you. That being said, if you don't feel comfortable to (or simply are unable) attend an exam centre in person for any reason, Recorded Exams will be available across all sessions.

CLOSING DATES
The large sessions need quite a bit of lead time both in order to get them scheduled and also to provide you with at least 4 weeks' notice. However, for the smaller sessions, you told us that less notice was needed because you knew your exams would be across the specified weekend. That made a lot of sense to us so we made that change and it seemed to work really well. The closing date for the shorter, weekend exam sessions will continue to be as late as possible.
As you know, if you have any technical issues and can't get your enrolment finalised on the closing date, we're more than happy to help you out when we're back in the office. But that Sunday cut-off still seemed to cause a few of you a lot of stress so we've shifted closing dates to the next office day so that we can talk you through any problems and help you get those last minute enrolments in.

SESSION 1
Easter weekend last year was particularly early so we've been able to return this weekend to April.
Diploma Candidates (instruments other than piano) should contact the office to enrol.

SESSION 2
Last year we had a slightly unusual scenario where the school holidays were moved after we'd published our dates. We've made sure we avoid that clash this year (assuming they don't move again!). Second to that, we've had to adjust our own dates ever so slightly to ensure the sessions is all wrapped up before we need to take SCORE offline for a week. Don't worry - we'll have plenty of updates and information ahead of that so you know what's going on but it's going to be very exciting. We'll be launching a new look (noticeably absent of any beige) and the facelift will include a few new features that we hope will make your life easier.

SESSION 3
This special session was very well received last year and the resounding response was that you'd love to have this session again. No worries! The Burnie piano session will include all grades from P Plate Piano up to Certificate of Performance.

SESSION 4
No real changes here.
Diploma Candidates (instruments other than piano) should contact the office to enrol.

SESSION 5
We extended this by a week last year and, for many reasons, this worked well. However, it also made things a little challenging to get TCE points reported in time for some students. This year, we're going to keep that final week but prioritise TCE students for their exams. We'll be aiming to schedule the majority of exams up to Sunday 20 November.

RECORDED EXAMS OUT OF SESSION
If you have a cohort of students wanting to do Recorded Exams, please get in touch. We might be able to organise an extra date just for you. Minimum numbers will be required and this will be subject to our capacity to support you at the time.
Please note that Diplomas are no longer available as Recorded Exams.

THEORY EXAMS
Paper-based Theory Exams will remain available for Diploma exams and Theory of Music syllabus only. All others are now available as Online Exams.

PERFORMANCE ARTS AWARDS
The Examiner comes to you! Please get in touch if you'd like your crew to do their PAA exam and we'll work with you to schedule this at a time that suits.
