Did you receive your Student ID and Email address?
If you haven’t already received your Student ID and University of Tasmania email address, these will be delivered to you via email in the next 24 hours.
You will be unable to set your password until these details have been issued to you. If you do not receive these details via email, please contact us on 13 UTAS (13 88 27) or via course.info@utas.edu.au.

Please note that as part of your offer, you must complete Year 12.
Step 1: Set your password
- After you receive your Student ID and Email, please set your password for the student systems.
Step 2: Access the Student Portal
- After setting your password, you’ll be ready to begin your enrolment journey. You’ll now have access to the Student Portal, your go-to hub for all information and resources.
Step 3: Enrol in your course units
- We’ll contact you in December when it's time to enrol in your course units. If your offer has any additional conditions (e.g., Chemistry), make sure these are completed before you can enrol.
- Note: even if you set your password (Step 1), you must still wait until December to enrol in your course units.
Step 4: Get your Tax File Number (TFN)
- If you don't already have one, apply for your Tax File number – it’s quick and easy, and you’ll need it to enrol in your course units.
Step 5: Create your Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- You’ll need a USI before you can start studying. Visit the Government portal to get one today.

Step 3: Enrol in your course units
- Please allow 24-48 hours after accepting your offer to begin enrolling. If there are any conditions on your offer, make sure they are met before starting enrolment.
- Note: Course unit enrolments for the upcoming academic year will open in October of the previous year.
Step 4: Gather the required information
Domestic students will need the following to complete the Commonwealth Assistance Form (CAF):
- Tax File Number – If you don’t have one, apply for your Tax File number
- Unique Student Identifier (USI) – Create your USI before you start studying by visiting the Government portal.
