Integrity, accountability, respect and teamwork – these qualities embody the practice of Paramedicine.
The care of patients outside of hospitals demands both highly developed clinical skills and the ability to think critically, even in stressful situations. If you are compassionate, committed and want to make a difference in your community then a career in Paramedicine may be right for you.
The Bachelor of Paramedicine is offered as a two-year, full time (fast-track) program, at two of our campuses, Hobart, Tasmania and Rozelle, NSW. This degree will provide you with the knowledge and skills to assess and manage the broad range of out-of-hospital clinical presentations within a safe, effective and ethical practice framework, preparing you for a role in paramedicine.
Through-out the degree, students have the chance to learn skills in small groups, and then apply what has been learnt in clinical simulation and to professional experience placements with ambulance services and other specialist health facilities. Our degree is taught by real-world practitioners, in small class sizes that give you individual attention and support.
Learning Outcomes

Your studies will include clinical placements across both metropolitan and rural settings, with diverse patient groups, in various ambulance stations and other specialist health facilities, such as hospitals.
In addition to experience in healthcare settings, you will also have the opportunity to:

- Undertake interdisciplinary learning activities with students studying other health courses such as nursing and medicine
- Participate in community engagement activities such as Open Day
Work placement
Within this course you will undertake Professional Experience Placement (PEP) units. These units have a focus on communication, professionalism, safe practice and leadership, and can include aged care placement and interprofessional education opportunities.
